Abandoned in Scotland. Rialto Cinema.

A little urbex in Dumbarton Scotland.

Rialto Cinema. College Way, Dumbarton.
The building was opened in 1914 by Joseph Wingate.
It was sold to Green’s circuit in 1924 and sold again to SCVT in 1927 and renamed the Rialto Cinema.
It was later sold to CAC and rebuilt for cine-bingo in 1981 with two small cinemas upstairs in the original balcony area.
The cinemas closed doors in 1989 and tried a brief reopening in 1993 which was unsuccessful, so the Rialto Cinema closed again and has been disused ever since.
Bingo continues in the former stalls area run by the Carlton Bingo Club.
The cinemas and offices are now used for storage.
